The Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Abinye Pepple says youths are key drivers of sustainable development and as such his administration remains committed greater inclusion and support for youth organizations in the LGA.

Pepple said this on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 when he received the Bonny Kingdom Youth Leaders Forum led by its Chairman, Karibi Dappa, during a courtesy visit to his office in Bonny, Rivers State.

The Bonny Kingdom Youth Leaders Forum is the convergence point for leaders of the youth associations of the 34 chieftaincy houses in Bonny Kingdom.

The Bonny LGA Numero Uno acknowledged the challenges raised by the Forum, which includes unemployment, leadership development, and youth participation, assuring the Forum of plans to review the Bonny Integrated Recruitment Centre (BIRC) framework to include youth leaders.

To strengthen their operations, the Chairman approved a ₦1 million monthly subvention for the Forum, urging them to mobilize young people in their various chieftaincy houses to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

Checks by Kristina Reports show a consolidated engagement drive by the incumbent Bonny LGA Chairman with various youth organizations, as well as contriving a management team comprising more than 60% youths.

Previously, he has engaged the apex youth body in Bonny Kingdom, the Bonny Youth Federation (BYF), then the National Union of Bonny Students (NUBS), and the Bonny Graduates Forum (BGF), amongst several others.
