Nigerian music star Davido has shared his perspective on marijuana and reaffirmed his commitment to giving back through philanthropic work.

In a recent appearance on The Morning Hustle podcast, the singer revealed that he does not consider weed a hard drug, though he remains dedicated to combating drug abuse.

Davido explained his stance, saying, “I don’t count weed as a drug.”

” When I posted it, people were like ‘but you smoke weed,’ it’s medicinal for some people.”

He emphasized that his concern is focused on the increasing impact of hard drugs on society, particularly among children.

The singer also highlighted his birthday tradition of donating to charitable causes, a practice he started two years ago after a viral moment on social media.

“I pledge to orphanages every year on my birthday, and I’ve done it for three years now.”

“It started two years ago.”

“I tweeted my account number randomly, and my fans ended up sending me close to 400,000 dollars.”

“My dad called me that I couldn’t keep the money, so we decided to give it away to motherless babies’ homes,” Davido recounted.

This year, he is extending his generosity to children affected by drug addiction, using funds from his foundation to address the issue.

“A lot of people have been going through a lot recently, and the drugs have taken over.”

“So, I want to donate to that cause and help them quickly,” he said.

Davido’s consistent efforts to support vulnerable groups continue to earn him admiration beyond the music scene.
