EID-UL-MAWLID: Evomec CEO Commemorates with Muslims, Urges Reflection on Prophet’s Teachings

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Evomec Global Services Limited (EGSL), High Chief Peter Onajite Esievo has commemorated with the Muslim faithful on the Eid El-Maulud celebration today.

The Eid El-Maulud, also referred to as Mawlid holiday, is celebrated by Muslims worldwide on the 12th day of Rabi’ al-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar, which falls on September 15th, 2024, in the Nigerian calendar this year.

It is in commemoration of the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad, Islam’s founder and final prophet. The celebration commemorates the Prophet’s life, teachings, and his role in spreading the message of Islam.

In a statement on Monday, September 16, 2024 made exclusively available to Kristina Reports in Bonny, Rivers State, the renowned businessman noted that the celebration, which marks the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, is a significant holiday.

He stated that its significance is in its emphasis on the Prophet’s teachings as the foundation of Islamic belief, and allows Muslims to reflect on his life, character, and the message of the Quran.

He noted that at Evomec Global Services Limited, the diversity of the team and community, especially with regards to religious beliefs, is recognized and cherished.

He encouraged members of the Evomec team and the community to be inspired by the celebration to embrace kindness, understanding, and mutual respect as they work together to achieve shared goals.

The businessman also charged the Muslim community in Bonny and in Nigeria at large to be merry and enjoy the holiday as it is a period for communal gatherings and fostering unity among their kinsmen and Muslims as a whole.

He added that they should use the occasion to give to the needy, reflecting the Prophet’s emphasis on compassion, charity, and community welfare.

High Chief Esievo urged Christians in the Evomec team and Nigeria, to show kindness to Muslims and respect the significance of the holiday, as it holds deep meaning for the Muslim community.

He noted that Evomec Global Services Limited is committed to ensuring the growth of the Bonny Community and its other operational environments through various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects which, according to him, also directly benefit the Muslims living in the community.

He wished the Muslims a joyful celebration marked with, reflection, and renewed strength.
