Imbibe Road Safety Consciousness – FRSC Charges Roads Users

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has charged road users, especially, those in Bonny Island, Rivers State to imbibe the spirit of road safety consciousness in order to safeguard their lives and those of other commuters.
The Acting Unit Commander of Bonny Unit Command, Chief Route Commander Comfort Mc-Orjinta gave this charge on Thursday, July 31, 2025 during an interactive meeting with the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Bonny LGA Chapter in Bonny, Rivers State.

She stated that the engagement with the NURTW Bonny LGA Chapter was in fulfilment of Goal 1 of the Federal Road Safety Corps 2025 Strategic Goals which has to do with Achieving 10% reduction in road traffic fatality and injury through focused interactions.
The FRSC Bonny Unit Commander urged members of the NURTW Bonny LGA Chapter to ensure their vehicles are road worthy at every given time, avoid overloading their vehicles with passengers and goods, and not leaving their doors open while passengers are on board their moving vehicles.
She further enjoined them to obey traffic rules and regulations, renew their particulars as at when due, avoid reckless driving, and ensure they possess valid Driver’s License, amongst others.
In his votes of thanks, the Staff Officer Operations1, FRSC Bonny Unit Command, Route Commander Chinedu Igwe thanked the Union for inviting the Command, advising them to ensure that they obey the traffic rules and regulations as enumerated by the Ag. Unit Commander.
Some of the transporters who spoke with Kristina Reports expressed delight over the engagement with the FRSC, saying it was enlightening as well as educative for them, expressing optimism that such interactions will continue.
