Abuja’s roads are at a standstill as heavy traffic chokes the routes leading to the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, the venue for the highly anticipated book launch of former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.
With top dignitaries and high-profile guests trying to gain entry, the event has turned into a logistical puzzle.

The autobiography, A Journey of Service, has been long awaited, and its public unveiling is scheduled for 11 a.m. under the chairmanship of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Special Guest of Honour.
By 8 a.m., security was in full force. Armed police officers, plainclothes detectives, and security operatives took strategic positions around the hotel, managing both human and vehicular movement.
The congestion stretched from Unity Fountain through Aguiyi Ironsi Street to Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent, forcing many attendees to ditch their cars and proceed on foot to the Congress Hall.
With a tough task on their hands, security personnel are rigorously screening every guest, ensuring only those with invitation cards make it into the venue.
Inside the venue, sources confirm that many guests arrived as early as 9 a.m., eager to witness history in the making, two hours before the official start time.
