Jossy Nkwocha Bows Out After 18 Years, as Indorama Promotes Green Legacy, Media Partnership

After nearly two decades of distinguished service, veteran journalist and public relations expert, Jossy Nkwocha, has officially handed over the reins as Head of Corporate Communications at Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals and Fertilizer Group to Justice Bibiye.

Justice Bibiye is a seasoned media professional with 22 years of experience, including at the African Independent Television (AIT).

The transition took place on Thursday, May 15, 2025 during a special media tour at the Indorama Petrochemical complex in Eleme, Rivers State.

In an emotional farewell, Nkwocha expressed his deep appreciation to journalists for their unwavering support throughout his tenure, appealing that the same goodwill be extended to his successor.

“I have been blessed to serve in this capacity, and I thank you all for standing by me and the company.”

“He will be stepping into my shoes so I’m asking that same corporation you gave to me, you should also Corporate with him”.

During the facility tour, journalists were taken through key operational zones of the plant, including the water treatment facility, olefins unit gas turbines and fertilizer production line amongst others.

What stood out, however, was Indorama’s lush green environment, with trees planted strategically across the premises a testament to the company’s commitment to a healthy, eco-friendly workspace.

“Production excellence is not an excuse for environmental pollution,” emphasized one of the plant guides, reinforcing Indorama’s vision of balancing industrial output with sustainability.

Representing the Managing Director, Manish Mundra, the Chief Technical Director, Sivadas Deepu pledged continued collaboration with the media.

 “We noted all the things you have mentioned here and we are sure to put in more effort to make sure, the collaboration between INDORAMA and journalist thrive”.

In his goodwill message, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Rivers State Council, Paul Bazia applauded Indorama’s collaboration with the media.

 “Indorama is largely advertised company and their partnership with the NUJ as well as the support has been top notch, we only plead that the good partnership”.

Veteran journalist Ignatius Chukwu also commended Indorama for fostering healthy relations with its host community, Eleme, describing the company as “a role model for others in the Niger Delta region.”

In his closing remarks, the new Head of Corporate Communications, Justice Bibiye thanked the Press for their long standing cooperation and promised to build on the foundation laid by Dr. Nkwocha.

 “I want to thank you once again for your support over the years and as Sir Jossy and our top management has appealed, I’ll need this support going forward”.
