Nigeria to Fight for World Cup Spot against Gernot Rohr, South Africa, Others

The Super Eagles will fight for a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup against long-standing Rivals; South Africa and former gaffer; Gernot Rohr, who is the current coach of Benin Republic, in Group C. Also in Group C are Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Lesotho.
The draw was held in Côte d’Ivoire on Thursday evening with 54 Nations spread out into nine groups, comprising of six teams. Only the group toppers will qualify to feature in Canada, Mexico and the United States of America for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Here are the Groups for the 2026 FIFA World Cup African Qualifiers.
In Group A: Egypt, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia and Djibouti
Group B presents: Senegal, Congo DR, Mauritania, Togo, Sudan and South Sudan
In Group C: Nigeria, South Africa, Benin, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Lesotho will battle it out.
Group D features: Cameroon, Cabo Verde, Angola, Libya, Eswatini and Mauritius
Group E: 2022 Semi-finalists; Morocco, Zambia, Congo, Tanzania, Niger and Eritrea
Group F: Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Kenya, The Gambia, Burundi, Seychelles
Group G: Algeria, Guinea, Uganda, Mozambique, Botswana and Somalia
Group H: Tunisia, Equatorial Guinea, Malawi, Namibia, Liberia and São Tomé and Príncipe
And last but not least in Group I: Mali, Ghana, Madagascar, Central African Republic, Comoros and Chad
