Nigerians Celebrate Olu Jacobs at 82

Fans and well-wishers across the country joined the world on Thursday to celebrate veteran Nigerian actor and film executive, Olu Jacobs, on his 82nd birthday.

Born on July 11, 1942, Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs received heartfelt tributes from his wife, Joke Silva, who took to Instagram to share a video of his youthful days.

The award-winning actress also offered a touching prayer: “82 just like that. Aging will not be difficult in Jesus name. Happy birthday and have an amazing year ahead me darling. Sir J of life @_olujacobs loving his customized house coat”.

Silva’s post came just days after she dispelled rumours about Jacobs’ death. This is the second time such rumours have circulated on social media since 2021, following her revelation about his ailing health.

Silva disclosed that Jacobs is battling dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), a condition caused by clumps of protein forming inside the brain cells.
