Notorious Suspected Kidnapper, M-Kaze Meets Waterloo as Police Neutralize Him, Recover Firearms

A notorious suspected kidnapper, David Uzoma Kamalu, aka M-Kaze has met his waterloo in the hands of ferocious operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) at Rumuodogu Community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, a Superintendent of Police (SP) disclosed this to newsmen on Thursday, May 29, 2025 in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

She informed that operatives of the Rumuji Division of the Rivers State Police Command neutralised M-Kaze and recovered exhibits during a tactical raid on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at a hideout in Rumuodogu Community.

She further informed that the 1am operation was the peak of several days of intensive due diligence, displaying the Police’s commitment to using accurate and actionable intelligence to disrupt and dismantle criminal networks.

Kristina Reports gathered that the police operatives encountered fierce armed resistance during the operation as they exchanged gunfire with the hoodlums, eventually neutralizing their leader, M-Kaze, while others escaped with several bullet injuries.

The following were exhibits recovered from the hideout, after a thorough search: one pump-action shotgun, two live cartridges, and various diabolical objects used as voodoo.

The deceased suspect has been a high value target with a bad reputation for allegedly perpetrating heinous crimes against innocent citizens.

As a results of his criminal records, local government authorities placed a bounty on his head due to the threats he posed to their environs.

The statement also said that the deceased, M-Kaze has been declared wanted by several law enforcement agencies for his involvement in the gruesome murder and beheading of a local security operative, Alete, popularly called Hunter Commander in January, 2025.

This was among other multiple high profile abductions and robbery activities along the East-West Road, which the Police said endangered residents and commuters.

As investigations and efforts are made to apprehend the other fleeing members of the gang, the public is advised to remain on the look out and report any suspicious individuals with gunshot wounds to the nearest security agency.

Meanwhile, all recovered exhibits are kept for further investigations.

The commissioner of Police, Rivers State, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, assures the public of the commitment to ensure public safety and security, promising that all perpetrators will be apprehended and made to face the full arm of the law.
