NUBS Sensitizes Students on Health, Hygiene, Distributes sanitary Pads, Toothpastes

The National Union of Bonny Students (NUBS) Worldwide has taken a proactive step towards promoting health and hygiene among students in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State.

NUBS National President, Isaac Wilcox, who led a team of the Union’s executives and members on a community outreach programme to Government Girls Secondary School, Finima (GGSSF), said it is aimed at educating the students on essential health-related topics.

Speaking at the event, Wilcox disclosed that the outreach includes awareness on personal hygiene and the role of student unionism in fostering wellness, underscoring the organization’s commitment to health education.

“As a body, we recognize the importance of promoting health and wellness among students. We believe that by educating students on health-related issues, we can empower them to make informed decisions about their health.”

Highlighting the significance of menstrual hygiene, NUBS Worldwide donated sanitary pads and toothpaste to the students.

According to the NUBS number one, the initiative is aimed at addressing health challenges faced by female students while fostering a culture of hygiene and self-care.  

The programme received enthusiastic support from the students and staff of GGSS Finima as NUBS Worldwide reaffirmed its dedication to conducting similar community outreach initiatives to promote student health and well-being in the future.
