Nigerian international Omorinsola Babajide has signed with AS Roma on a free transfer. The Italian club confirmed the signing of the Super Falcons winger on Monday, July 14, 2025.
Babajide has committed to a contract that will run until June 30, 2027, following her departure from Spanish club UD Tenerife, where she played for two years (2023 – 2025).

The 27-year-old, currently representing the Falcons at the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Morocco, recorded 11 goals and 6 assists in the previous season.

“I am honoured to join a club like AS Roma, with its rich history and ambitious vision. I look forward to giving my all for the team, growing as a player, and representing Nigeria proudly on this new stage, she said.”
Born in England to Nigerian parents, Babajide previously played for the Millwall Lionesses, Watford, Liverpool and Brighton & Hove before moving to Spain, where she had stints with Real Betis and then Tenerife.
From 2015 to 2019, she represented the England national team at the youth level. However, in 2023, Rinsola decided to switch her allegiance to the Nigerian national team. She received her first call-up in October 2023 and made her debut on October 25, 2023, starting in a 1–1 draw against Ethiopia during the 2024 Olympic qualifying matches.
On July 6, 2025, she scored a goal and provided an assist, helping Nigeria achieve victory over Tunisia in their opening game of the 2025 WAFCON tournament.
Known for her speed, technical skills, and unpredictability, she can operate on either flank in an attacking trio and would be an asset to the Italian outfit which will be looking to go higher than their last season third-place finish in the Serie A women’s League.
