There has been a surge in the incidences of ‘one-chance’ operations in Abuja. These operations have led to the death and maiming of many individuals.

As a result, citizens have resorted to taking laws into their own hands when any perpetrator of this evil is caught.

Two individuals suspected to be “one-chance” operators met their end at the hands of an angry mob in the Lugbe area of the Federal Capital Territory on Saturday.

Eyewitnesses reported that the mob set fire to the vehicle allegedly used for their criminal activities.

A commercial driver, Ahmed, recounted the incident, stating that the suspects had forcefully thrown a victim out of a moving vehicle.

According to him, the crowd gave chase and eventually caught up with the suspects near Dunamis Church.

“What happened was that after a victim was thrown out of a moving vehicle, some people pursued the car and intercepted it after Dunamis Church.

“There were three people inside. One escaped, another was beaten to death, and the third, who was in critical condition after the mob attack, reportedly died later.”

“The victim was taken to the hospital by some Good Samaritans for medical treatment.”

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, had yet to respond to inquiries at the time this report was filed.
