Nigeria’s U-19 Women’s Basketball team have been drawn in Group B ahead of the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup scheduled to take place in Brno, Czechia from Saturday, July 12 to Sunday, July 20, 2025.

Nigeria who is drawn alongside two-time bronze medalist Canada(2017&2023), one-time bronze medalist China(2005) and debutants Portugal, secured the second of two tickets to represent Africa in Chile by finishing second behind Mali at last year’s FIBA Africa U18 Women’s Afrobasket Championship in Pretoria, South Africa.

The draw was performed by former Czechia national team stars, Ivana Vecerova and Eva Viteckova. Czech Basketball Federation President Miroslav Jansta and FIBA Central Board and Executive Committee member Carmen Tocala attended the event.
