Team Nigeria’s participation in the 2025 World Athletics Relays seems to have received a green light, as several reports hold that the Chinese embassy approved visas for athletes and officials.
With their passports now reportedly in the possession of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), urgent travel arrangements are being made to ensure the team reaches on time.
Nigeria’s relay teams were initially forced to withdraw after visa delays of 7 US-based athletes threatened their chances of participating in the event and qualifying for the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo.
All hands are on deck now,” said a senior AFN official. “It’s a logistical sprint, but the dream is still alive.”
