Ayra Starr and Sexyy Red to Headline Afro Nation Dominican Republic 2025

Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer Ayra Starr and American rap star Sexyy Red have been announced as headliners for the upcoming Afro Nation Festival in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

The festival is set to take place from November 7 to 9, 2025, at the Pearl Beach Club. This marks Afro Nation’s first official outing in the Dominican Republic.

Joining the two female stars is South African music producer DJ Maphorisa, alongside other rising acts like Ruger and Shallipopi.

Organizers confirmed the news on Monday, August 5, saying the Dominican edition will be a blend of Afrobeats, hip-hop, and amapiano, bringing fans from across the world to celebrate Black music and culture.

Ayra Starr, known for hits like Rush and Bloody Samaritan, continues to shine on global stages.

She recently became the first Nigerian female artist to hit one billion YouTube views, and also won Best International Act at the 2025 BET Awards, along with two MOBO Awards.

Sexyy Red, famous for her bold lyrics and energetic stage presence, has been making waves in the rap scene.

Her inclusion signals Afro Nation’s growing mix of African and American music talents.

DJ Maphorisa is expected to bring the heat with his amapiano magic, after touring extensively across Europe and Africa this year.

The Afro Nation brand, which started in Portugal, has held successful editions in Ghana, Miami, and Detroit.
