Ayra Starr Confirms New York Relocation in US Radio Interview

Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has officially confirmed that she now lives in New York City after relocating less than two months ago.

She made the announcement on November 25, 2025, during a video interview on Hot 93.7FM’s “Buck N Regg” show.

When asked directly if she lives in New York, she replied:
“I do.”

Ayra Starr said the move felt natural because she had always spent time in the city even before relocating.

She said:
“I moved in officially less than two months ago.”

She added that New York gives her the same energy as her home city Lagos.

Her words were:
“New York reminds me so much of Lagos.”

She explained that the presence of many Nigerians and a strong African community made her feel instantly at home.

She stated:
“There are a lot of Nigerians here.”

” There’s a huge African diaspora here.”

” So it feels like home.”

Ayra Starr also admitted she was unsure at first about relocating until she performed in New York and felt connected to the city.

She said:
“I was skeptical about moving but after being on stage here, I really like it. I love it.”

She noted that she is still settling in and furnishing her new apartment as she adjusts to her new environment.
