The Chairman of Abua/Odual Local Government Area, Owolobi Ofori has urged indigenous entrepreneurs to site their businesses at home to boost the local economy of the area.
Ofori said this on Monday, November 25, 2025 when members of ABOLGA Young Urban SMEs (AYUS) paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Abua Town, Rivers State.

He outlined the need for indigenous businesses to flourish in the area, highlighting the impact such will have on the development of Abua/Odual LGA.
The Chairman emphasized the need for home grown businesses to sprout up in the LGA, tasking AYUS to deploy its resources to attract more and more business to the LGA, stressing that this will serve as an avenue for more Investors to come to the area.
Earlier, a member of AYUS, Otukupe Dickson had expressed the appreciation of the group to the Chairman over the various ongoing developmental projects in the LGA, particularly, the construction of a State High Court building.

He also used the opportunity to appeal to the LG Chairman to facilitate the siting of a Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre in Abua/Odual LGA, a request which the Chairman pledged to pursue approval from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
He further promised that once the approval is secure, his administration will immediately kick-start the building of the CBT center.
On his part, another member of AYUS, King Nwanti thanked the Chairman for the warm reception accorded the group, while commending the Chairman for the transformation of the Local Government Council Secretariat to a world class standard.
