According to Bonny Kingdom constitution, this presentation completes the chief making process as it accords the leadership and members of the chieftaincy house the opportunity to present the chief they have made for themselves to the King.

In turn, it affords the Amanyanabo-in-Council the opportunity to directly interface with the presented Chief, induct him into the Bonny Chiefs Council where he now becomes a country chief (Se-Alabo) and joins his colleague country chiefs to assist the King administer the Kingdom.

Upon his installation and capping, Wari-Alabo Sotonye Banigo succeeds the late Se-Alabo Jonathan Taripanyeofori Banigo, Ibaningo VIII, as the Chief and Head of the Banigo Major Chieftaincy House.

Late Se-Alabo Banigo transmigrated almost a year ago and was accorded the traditional obsequies befitting of a country chief. Thereafter, the elders of the House moved to elect a successor to the ancient Iringeresibo stool.

The incoming Chief, Sotonye Banigo has his antecedents as a proven security czar, versatile in diverse areas of security management.

Expectations are high that he will leverage his professional proficiency, leadership acumen and administrative sagacity back at the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) from where he retired recently to lead the Banigo House to its Utopia.
