The President-elect of the Nigerian Film Festivals Association and Founder of the Rivers International Film Festival, Kate Ezeigbo, has been appointed as Head of Jury for the festival of films scheduled to hold during the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) “Time Out” event in December.

The AGN “Time Out,” originally initiated by former chairman Bartholomew Aguogu, is being revived under the current administration led by Ken Osunwa. The five-day event will take place in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

As part of the festival’s structure, members of the AGN Rivers State Chapter have been grouped into houses by the planning committee led by Longjohn Ogunka. Each house, headed by a team leader, is expected to produce a film to be judged across multiple categories.

Speaking to journalists, Ezeigbo said overseeing a jury is not new to her as a festival owner, but this marks the first time she will officially bear the title of “Head of Jury”.

“One of the things I want to achieve through this process is to put this brilliant idea of the guild on an international map by nominating other members of the jury who are not Nigerians,” she stated, assuring that the selection process will remain transparent.

This appointment comes just two weeks after Ezeigbo was elected President of the Nigerian Film Festivals Association, cementing her growing influence in Nigeria’s creative industry.
