BREAKING! Jumbo Major House Ogbobiri Asawo Gets New Leadership

The Ogbobiri Asawo (adult male members) of the Jumbo Major House of Bonny Kingdom now has a new leadership led to pilot its affairs for the next two years.

The new leadership emerged after her election held on Sunday, October 19, 2025 in Bonny, Rivers State.  

Those elected and sworn-in include Eric Rogers Jumbo; Chairman, Iyeowuna Lawrence Jumbo; Vice Chairman, Darlington Oko-Jumbo; Secretary, Isaac Ibe Jumbo; Assistant Secretary, and Nengi Jumbo; Public Relations Officer.

Others are Clinton William-Jumbo; Treasurer, Subima Jumbo; Financial Secretary, Peter Orumbie; Welfare Officer, and Idamienye Jumbo; Provost Marshall.

In his acceptance speech the Chairman, Eric Jumbo expressed his appreciation to all members of the Ogbobiri Asawo for finding him and members of his Executive worthy to serve in the different offices.

He assured them of his administration’s commitment to contemplate and implements initiatives that will better the lives of members, appealing to members to support the executive, while promising that the executive will work closely with the congress to achieve set objectives.

Reacting to the development, an opinion leader in the Jumbo Major House, Darlington Jumbo congratulated the newly elected officers, urging them to “serve the interest of the House without fear or favour, and be just to all”.

“I wish you all a successful tenure in office, keeping in mind that this is a call to service, at this particular time in the history of our dear House. Congratulations once again!”

Also felicitating the new leadership, the Senior Special Assistant on Student Affairs to the Bonny LGA Chairman, Godswill Lawson-Jumbo expressed the optimism that their “tenure will be marked by great success and prosperity within your two years tenure of office”.

“I heartily extend my warmest congratulations to all the newly Inaugurated Executives of Jumbo Major House Ogbobiri Asawo of Bonny Local Government Area.”

“As you step into this new phase of leadership, we trust that you will bring your experience to bear and contribute meaningfully to the growth of Jumbo Major House. Congratulations, once again and Best wishes on your new position.”
