LG Chairman Assures of Support for NLNG Train 7 CSR Projects

The Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Abinye Pepple has reaffirmed his administration’s support for the successful execution of corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects associated with the Train 7 projects.

Pepple, who said this on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 during a meeting with stakeholders of the Train 7 CSR projects in his office in Bonny, Rivers State, described them as “vital to Bonny’s growth and prosperity”.

The stakeholders include the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG), Bonny Kingdom Development Committee (BKDC), Evomec Global Services Limited (EGSL) and Chairborne Global Services Limited.

NLNG is the project owner, BKDC is Bonny Kingdom development coordinating institution, Evomec is the approved vendor for the road expansion project from Shell (now Renaissance) gate to Coal Beach, while Chairborne is handling the vehicular terminal project along Bonny-Bodo Road.

“As a responsible government, we will give every needed support to these projects because they represent our collective development,” he stated.

According to a statement by the LG Chairman’s office, discussions at the meeting focused on the implementation of the NLNG Train 7 CSR projects, including reviews of key project timelines and expectations, featuring presentations from both contractors.

The stakeholders unanimously resolved at the meeting to ensure transparency, cooperation, and timely completion of the projects.

The NLNG team had its Head, Government Relations, Michael Igoni, and Head, Community Engagements, Ifeanyi Umeh, BKDC led by its Chairman, Amairigha Hart, Evomec by its Director of Finance Otonye Idoniboye, and Chairborne by its Community Liaison Officer, Anthony Banigo.

In the Chairman’s entourage were his Vice, Ibinyefagha Alabere, Secretary to the Local Government, Tamunotonye Jumbo, and Senior Special Advisor on Community Affairs, Fred Pepple.
