Luminary Girls Wins Edtech XHackton 2025

The team Luminary girls of the Authentic Charis International Academy have emerged winners of the Edtech Xperience Hackaton competition.
The event which took place on Friday, November 21, 2025 at Nobik Event Center Aba, Abia State, had teams from various secondary schools in the city of Aba, who pitched tech solutions before a panel of judges.

Team Luminary Girls, which consisted of 3 students, Elom Favour, Ngwuta Christabel and Ikechukwu Favour, presented a tech solution called “E-Mal”, which was designed to help solve the problem of examination malpractice by providing facial recognition, Anti-screenshot/camera as well as time sensitive features to help minimize the rate og examination malpractice among students.

The Panel of judges, led by the Special adviser to the Governor on Digital Economy, Elizabeth Chijioke, described the team’s project as an extraordinary one which provides a realistic solution to solving challenges faced in the society today.
Also speaking on the event, the founder of Center Point Multi Solutions, Ihedinmma Obioha described the win and the event as a stepping stone for women to take charge in the world of tech.
“They used to say that women do not belong here. But today, I am glad that women are not just participating but also topping the league of what is happening in the area of digital technology.”
“I am a woman and I am proud of what is happening here today.”
” I hope to see more of this.”
She also urged students and school owners to ensure that they pay attention to the rising area of digital technology which is needed in every area of life to solve both basic and complex problems.

The team was awarded the price of ₦300,000, while the second position went to Team Intellectual Superstars which are also students of Authentic Charis International Academy and were awarded the price of ₦200,000.
The third position was awarded with the price of ₦100,000.
Also, cash and gift prices were given to participating schools and students who answered questions during the interractive session.
