The Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) has endorsed the Wakirike Trade Fair, just as it called for investments to boost the economy at the grassroots.
The Wakirike Trade Fair is scheduled to hold from Friday through Saturday, December 19 to 20, 2025.

President of PHCCIMA, Dr. Chinyere Nwoga gave this indication on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 after a meeting with the organizers of the Wakirike Trade Fair in her office in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Representatives of the organizing team included a former Commissioner for Information and Communications, Ibim Semenitari, and the Convener, Marian Oputa.
She reiterated that Port Harcourt Chamber, being the second largest chamber in the Nigeria amongst eight chambers and 28 bilateral chambers, is focused on its core mandate of supporting businesses to grow, asserting that lives are impacted when businesses grow.
“When businesses grow, life changes and there is also peace because people are gainfully employed.”
Dr Nwoga advised that the Wakirike Trade Fair organizers to identify with PHCCIMA to accentuate visibility for their brand, adding that there are several other benefits of identifying the chamber.
In an interview with Kristina Reports, the Convener of the Wakirike Trade Fair, Marian Oputa expressed delight over the endorsement, saying it represents a great milestone for the fair.
The Okrika born business entrepreneur appreciated the PHCCIMA President for the endorsement, promising to identify with and keep up with PHCCIMA’s projects and programmes.
“It means a whole lot to me, I never believed I’ll be getting an endorsement from them, I promise to be a member of PHCCIMA.”
Also speaking with Kristina Reports, Semenitari, who is also the Executive Director of Archdeacon Brown Education Centre (ABEC), appreciated the warm reception accorded the team by the PHCCIMA President, noting that the Convener is doing a phenomenal work in trying to bring trade and commerce home.

She expressed gratitude to Dr Nwoga for providing the Wakirike Trade Fair team with directions and guidelines on how to succeed with the fair, as well as being a strong advocate for women support, especially, in micro and nano businesses.
“She has been doing some good work. We must find ways to support women in business, especially, in micro businesses because a lot of women are at the engine rooms of their own homes.”
The former Commissioner for Information also beckoned on the government to consider ways of providing strategic support for the business sector, especially, nano and small businesses, with a view to boosting the economic indices of the State.
