Pregnant Woman Found Hanging from Cashew Tree in Anambra

Anambra State Police have initiated an investigation into the tragic death of a pregnant woman whose body was discovered hanging from a cashew tree along the Ike-Ideani road in the Idemili North Local Government Area.

Residents of the Ideani Community were left in shock upon the discovery, as the body was found in a secluded area.

The state’s Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, has urged community leaders and stakeholders to come forward with any information that could shed light on the circumstances of the woman’s death. He described the incident as a “tragic example of inhumanity” and has ordered a comprehensive investigation to identify those responsible.

The Commissioner also appealed to the public for assistance in identifying the deceased, so that her family could be informed and arrangements made for the recovery of the body.

Officers from the Ogidi Police Division have recovered the woman’s body, which has been deposited in the mortuary for further examination.
