Pupils of Okigwe Road Secondary School, in Aba, Abia State, have been left without enough classrooms as part of their buildings have been pulled down following the renovations of the school.
This has led to students not having enough classrooms to take lessons because they are forced into tiny spaces pending the completion of the school.

They have also been affected greatly due to the heavy downpour that has been on for days which have come down into their classes through the leaking roof and dilapidated walls.
Speaking off camera on the incident, the Principal of the school, Mr. Okoli Benjamin said the buildings were pulled down to enable them to have space for new buildings since the old ones were beyond minor renovations.
He also stated that it is in line with Governor Alex Otti’s smart school plan for the city of Aba where it is expected that public Schools are to have first class classrooms to enable students to learn properly.

Speaking further, he pleaded on the public to exercise patience with the government as all hands are on deck to ensure that the classrooms are brought up again and students do not need to be stuffed in tiny spaces.
Okigwe Road Secondary School, which is known as Okigwe 2, is one of the numerous public schools in Aba, Abịa State which have been mapped out for renovations.
Other schools that are expected to join the renovation train soon is the Umuode Primary school, Model 1,2 and 3, Infantry Battalion Primary School among others.
