Troops Of 6 Division Rescue Kidnapped Special Adviser To MD NDDC

The 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, yesterday recorded a success as they successfully rescued the special Adviser to the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Akari Loveday.

This was contained in a communique made available to Kristina Reports by the Acting Deputy Director of the 6 Division Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Danjuma Jonah.

The victim, Akari Loveday, who is the Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Samuel Ogbuku was kidnapped along Ayakoro Community Waterways in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

In a swift synergy operation conducted by the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Navy Ship, Department of State Services and the Nigeria Police Force, there was a smooth rescue of the victim.

The Public Relations Officer of the 6 Division also highlighted the impacts of the people of the community in the rescue mission as they helped in blocking all exits areas of the criminals.

“The operation was largely successful due to the Community support provided to the troops by the members of the local community, who came out in their numbers to block possible exits of the criminals”.

Akari Loveday has since been reunited with the Managing Director and the Leaders of Ayakoro Community in Ogbia Local Government Area, while troops are currently combing the general area to apprehend the kidnappers.
