The Recording Academy of The Grammys Awards have just released the nomination list for the 2026 Grammys Awards that is to take place in Los Angeles come February 1, 2026. 

This year’s nomination took into consideration songs released between August 24,2024 and August 30, 2025 and had the introduction of two new categories, Best Album Cover and Best Traditional Country Album. 

It is noteworthy that while Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Burna Boy tops the African list with 2 nominations, American Rapper, Kendrick Lamar takes the lead with 9 nominations followed by Lacy Gaga with 7 nominations.

Also, Justin Bieber makes a grand entrance back to the scene after years of inactivity with his album, “SWAG” under the Best Pop Vocal Album. 

Other Africans nominated for the award are Angelina Kidjo, Tyla and Ugandian Eddy Kenzo.
