JUST IN: Top Government Official’s Brother Escapes Assassination Attempt in Bonny

One of the younger brothers of a top government official (name withheld) escaped an assassination attempt on his life in the early hours of Thursday, October 23, 2025 in Bonny, Rivers State.
Kristina Reports learnt from eyewitnesses that the victim was attacked close to his residence at Shell Pipeline as he was driving out of his compound.
Eyewitnesses told Kristina Reports that he escaped with injuries to his head from his assailants who chased all the way to the Agaja Market along Finima Road before they were dislodged by security operatives.
Kristina Report further learn that the victim is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed medical facility in Bonny.
A top security source, who spoke to Kristina Reports off the records, revealed that the culprits were yet to be identified or apprehended, asserting that, though currently on the run, they would soon be apprehended.
He informed that security agencies are still at a loss as to the reason for the attempt on his life.
“It was unclear whether this was because of his involvement in the Train 7 crisis or just because his elder brother is holding a government position.”
