A movie shot in Bonny Island, “The Boy Who Gave”, has earned a top spot in the competition stage of the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) 2025.
The movie, which was written and directed by Bonny Kingdom-born Emmanuel Allison, with sponsorship by Grafton Entertainment, was shot on Thursday, August 14, 2025, in Bonny Island, Rivers State and scheduled to premiere in November 2025.

So far, the movie, “The Boy Who Gave: A Journey of Passion and Purpose”, has scaled through thousands of submissions to climb the rank of the only 4 Nigerian and one of just eight African entries overall selected for the festival’s main competition category.
Checks by Kristina Reports Entertainment indicates that its selection for the AFRIFF competition stage not only signifies the audience’s acceptance but also stands as a testament to the director’s mastery of storytelling and excellent command of film production techniques that brought this remarkable story to life.

The feature movie with a watch time of an hour and fifty-eight minutes was written and directed by Emmanuel Allison and was shot at different locations in Nigeria’s crude oil and gas export capital, Bonny Island.
This again is another one of the great times Bonny Island has been projected through the lens of entertainment and creativity to the rest of the world. A very recent one was the Guinness World Record attempt for the longest painting marathon by Olivia Lawson.
“The Boy Who Gave” is in battle with other selected movies in the Africa Category of the award in coming weeks.
Other movies in the category include movies made in Ghana, Kenya, Cameroon and making it one of the most anticipated segments of AFRIFF 2025.
Congratulating Emmanuel Allison on the movie’s achievement so far, Chief Executive Officer of Grafton Entertainment, Tonye Ibiama had this to say on his verified Meta (formerly Facebook) wall:

“CONGRATULATIONS TO US🎉🎊
