Children with special needs in Rivers State joined their fellow students in receiving consignments of educational materials provided for them by the State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, in partnership with the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) Board and other entities.

The educational materials donated by the Governor, in conjunction with the State PTA Board, and Cloudnotte, an innovative EdTech Company, include pairs of uniforms, sandals, school bags and educational materials to students.

Kristina Reports gathered that the donation, which was made on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, captured selected schools such as the Special School for Handicapped Children, Enitonna High School, and Government Comprehensive Secondary School, all in Borikiri in Port Harcourt Local Government Area of the State.

Speaking on behalf of the Governor, the Chairman of the PTA Board, Boma Allison said the generosity was aimed at putting smiles on the faces of young ones from indigent families, which was also in tandem with the Governor’s goal of contributing and enhancing the academic sector by providing infrastructure for easy learning, and expanding learning opportunities.

He emphasized that the gesture underscored the Governor’s predilection for all-inclusive governance, promising that the Board will stand by his vision which focuses on the revitalisation of the Education sector.

“Education is the bedrock of progress….in view of this, we want to unequivocally say that all parents and the Rivers PTA BOARD are solidly behind Governor Sim Fubara”

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of Cloudnotte, Mary Matthew said the donation was her organization’s way of preparing students for external examinations and closing gaps in the academic pursuits.

Mary also used the opportunity to beckon for support to achieve the Compulsory Computer Based Test, noting the mandate of Cloudnotte aims at ensuring a seamless online/offline testing with the aid of advanced technology.

“We’re empowering students with tools for success, aligning with the Governor’s push for digitised inclusive education.”

“We trust the Rivers Visionary Governor will address that, now that attention has been drawn. We’re proud of what he’s doing in the educational sector.”

The collaboration between the trio is a way of assuaging academic barriers for underprivileged students, promoting equity and positive outcomes, stressing that it sets a model for future initiatives, describing how it can amplify and broaden the scope of education in Rivers State.
